About the Artist
I call myself Stoic Al, better known as Allen Marina. I am on a profound journey that has shaped my perspective on Art and Life. Born into poverty in 1980, on the outskirts of Bogota, Colombia, I faced early hardships as my younger brother and I were abandoned by our natural father. However, fate took a positive turn when an American social worker recognized our “adaptability.”
In 1987, my brother and I were adopted by a loving American couple, allowing us to embark on a new life to pursue the “American Dream.” From my earliest school years, my artistic ability shone through in my notebooks, filled with playful and enigmatic doodling. However, amidst personal struggles and inner strife, I questioned whether my art would be understood by those around me.
Al’s Art
Over time, my art evolved into deeply personal and emotionally – charged expressions that resonate with those who encounter them. It has become a means for me to reach those who have experienced similar hardships and challenges. Notably, I dedicate much of my energy to creating a nurturing environment for my young daughter, striving to ensure her happiness and success.
Encouraging others to explore the transformative power of the Stoic Philosophy, I hope to inspire individuals to cultivate resilience and to find peace amidst adversity.

Organic Abstract Visual Expressionism
I pride myself on creating unique designs. Each piece is meticulously crafted to form a specific tie to the emotions that everyone experiences, whether it be love, sadness, or a longing for excellence. Sometimes, you just want to say: Life stinks. My art speaks directly to the individual’s perception of the design, a little like a Rorschach Test, but more fun! Sometimes, you see the world in Black and white; other times, in glorious, full color, creating a form of Visual Poetry for your eyes. Your choice.
In addition to my graphic designs, I write Haiku poems that express the emotions behind each piece. This fusion of visual art and poetic expression maximizes the message. It adds depth and impact, stimulating thought and igniting meaningful conversations. My unique style of design is not limited to e-tail sales alone.
